Cakereck regular stoppig by to let you know that you HAVE to totally become a professional at cake decor. Exquisite cakes, love them. You will go far in the business!
i "fourth" these comments--saw you on cakewrecks, your cakes are just divine, you totally should be charging more, and don't you dare stop and go do somethin boring cause you have loads of talent.
Haha, people who feel the need to post unsolicited "constructive criticism" are usually the ones who look for fault in things they could never possibly do themselves.
Dear Michele, I didn't delete any of your comments. I appreciate your advice. Thank you -Melia P.S. Thank you to everyone else for your kind and encouraging words! It means so much to me!
I am so impressed with your work, and I wish you luck in your future cake endeavors (not that you'll need it!) You're wonderfully creative and I have no trouble believing you can go far with this!
I love your cakes! I'm so sorry you had someone like Michelle try to dampen your spirits. Don't let it! She is just a very sad individual and jealous! You are an awesome baker and you will totally go far!!
Hey, Found you off cake wrecks.. I was interested in your work because I am also a 17 year old cake decorator :-) (only i work over in southern California) its nice to know there are other young decorators! good job!
If you can you should take a pic of what the cake looks inside too, after you cut it. If the cake is for someone you know. Otherwise that wouldn't work so well. But we would love to see the inside of them too. Great job! You are extremely cretive and talented. I am sure you will have your own large cake business sometime. Were you inspired by Ace of Cakes since you live in the same state, right?
i'm also another cakewrecker, you are very talented! keep up the good work! I wish you lived closer to me so I could order a cake for my husbands birthday!
I am 22 years old and cake-baking is a hobby of mine. If you are in the Maryland, D.C., or Virginia area and would like a custom made cake, contact me at melia@mmmeliacakes.com.
I started baking cakes when I was 12 years old. At first, I would just play around with different shaped Wilton pans and experiment with making my own flavors. I've never had professional lessons, I just kind of taught myself things--I don't do things the typical way, but I'm proud of the methods I've invented. Every cake is a new learning experience for me.

That is fabulously cute! I love the Toy Story Alien :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your cakes- I'm going to assume that you don't have much formal training, which makes your cakes even more incredible.
ReplyDeleteIf this is what you decide to do for a living, you'll kick ass and take names.
And don't listen to the naysayers. They usually are just jealous and/or mean.
